Sommelier's Selection

The selection below is a small sample of what we believe to be some of the most exciting, quality driven wines and producers in the world today. We hope you enjoy drinking them as much as we have enjoyed sourcing them for you.

NV Louis Roederer Premier Brut  $178 bottle  $92 half-bottle  $29.50 glass

Brut Premier non-vintage is the embodiment of Louis Roederer style! Roederer draws most heavily from its own vineyard holdings, the majority of which are in grand cru sites , combining all the fruitiness and freshness of youth with the vinosity of a fully mature wine.

Showcasing a rich yet subtle bouquet with hints of hawthorn, almonds and toast, the Brut Premier is a well structured and elegant wine with a lively attack and a smooth palate. Undoubtedly o ne of the richest and most rewarding non-vintage Champagnes on the market!

2011 Framingham Sauvignon Blanc  $33 half-bottle

This Sauvignon Blanc is blended from fourteen base wines sourced from eight different sites in the Wairau Valley, including the North Bank, Southern Valleys, Lower Wairau and their own Estate at Conder's Bend.  A bouguet of fragrant aromatics reminiscent of pink grapefruit, stonefruit and dried thyme is apparent with some stony smoky mineral notes adding lovely complexity.  This is complemented with a full and complex spectrum of flavours on teh palate ranging from herbal notes through to ripe tropical fruit which is enriched by the barrel ferment components of the wine making process.  Acidity is fresh and juicy but by no means tart and helps to promote a signature dry, stony mineral finish.  The wine's liveliness and punch are immediately appealing!
