This TV show was born from the love of fishing, hunting, and the great outdoors of two of Wellington's top fine dining restaurateurs - Al Brown and Steve Logan.

This television series has inspired many. In each episode they trade the comfort of restaurant life for life on the road.

In Al’s beautiful 1964 EH Holden they head for the hills and chase down some of New Zealand’s finest and freshest foods bringing us dishes of wild game and seasonal delicacies. Shortly after arriving, decide who hunts for the main dish and who gathers the other ingredients. They then go their separate ways, hooking up with local identities who help in their quest and along the way share their stories, their history, and in many cases their favourite fishing and hunting spots.
